M is for

Millennial

A throwback millennial book with ABCs for the generation that knew the pain of dial-up and the joy of Saturday morning cartoons. This isn’t your kid’s alphabet book. M is for Millennial is a cheeky, nostalgic joyride through the slang, gadgets, and glorious chaos of the ’80s and ’90s. If you ever rewound a VHS with your pinky or feared chain letters, this one’s for you.

Relive the lingo. Celebrate the cringe. Raise the roof, it’s time to go back.

Meet Katie Estes: The Author Of The Best Nostalgia Book

Katie Estes is a high school business teacher in Western New York and a proud Millennial. By day, she teaches Gen Z students, often referencing the glory days of Tamagotchis, Napster, and AIM profiles. By night, she’s a bedtime-story-reading mom to two Gen Alpha kids, alongside her husband, who appreciates when a children’s book can make the adults laugh too.

After reading one too many alphabet books filled with apples and alligators, Katie decided it was time to shake things up. “M is for Millennial” was born out of a desire to share a little nostalgia with the next generation, one bedtime story at a time.  A lover of the late 90s and early 2000s pop, cringy early internet trends, and Blockbuster movie nights, Katie sees this as an ode to her youth and a playful bridge between Millennials and their curious kids. This is her first book, and she hopes it brings as many giggles to your home as it has to hers.

What is the Book about?

M is for Millennial is your alphabetized 80s and 90s slang book to a time before smartphones, when mixtapes ruled and saying “Booyah!” meant something. From “A is for As If” to “Z is for Zigazig Ah,” this book is packed with throwback slang, pop culture nods, and nostalgic gems that defined a generation.

Whether you were raised on Saturday morning cartoons or survived the chaos of Y2K, this quirky A-to-Z journey is a love letter to every Millennial who still remembers life before Wi-Fi.

Finally, a book that gets us.

From VHS rewinds to catchphrases no one says anymore, this book nailed our vibe. I bought three copies, one for me, one for my sister, and one for the time capsule.

This book hit me right in the childhood.

I laughed, cringed, and nodded through every letter. It felt like scrolling through my own memory lane, minus the dial-up loading screen.

        Behind The Pages

Inside the Covers: Where Nostalgia Meets Alphabet Soup

M is for Millennial is a love letter to a generation raised on floppy disks, fruit roll-ups, and filtered sarcasm. Every letter unpacks a cultural moment, some hilarious, some cringe, all unforgettable.

Born from a mix of childhood flashbacks and grown-up reflections, this book celebrates the Millennial spirit: bold, ironic, and a little chaotic—in the best way possible. Katie Estes blends humor and heart into every phrase, proving that alphabet books aren’t just for kids anymore.

This one’s for the '80s and '90s kids who still remember their home phone number, their first AIM username, and what it meant to “be kind and rewind.” Whether you’re a nostalgia junkie, a word nerd, or just someone who misses simpler times, this book was made for you.
